This is why it is always a good idea to replace the missing tooth with an implant, fixed bridge or removable partial. Hopefully they'll keep the retainers in tho', I just don't want to nag them too much about it. When you have a missing tooth, the teeth on either side will want to drift into the empty space causing total misalignment. I'd love to get mine done again, but I just can't afford it. And then their teeth go back to the state they were in. My worry is, is that my kids are naturally gonna think, once the braces are off, 'that's it, my teeth are good, no need to bother with retainers'. I've no idea what my kids are going to eat for the next 15 months, lol.
I HAD BRACES AND MY TEETH SHIFTED FOR FREE
No interest in going back to the dentist and this time having to pay for treatment (fortunately I qualified for free treatment due to the state they were in). Their teeth have shifted so much that they are paying once again to align. I still wear my old retainers once a week on a night, which fixes them back into position for about a day before they're back to the way they are. Many orthodontic patients are adults that already had braces or clear aligners. I then got retainers, wore them for about 8-9 months, slowly weaning myself off them as instructed.Īnyway, after all that, my teeth went back to being bent and pretty much as before. The extended time was probably down to the fact I kept breaking mine (I refused to comply with the dentist's guidelines about what food I could and couldn't eat. I wore braces for just under 3 years, predicted about 18-24 months before treatment started.
